ENGLAND — By Chris Lomon
It’s a sure bet that the 2024 edition of the iconic Grand National at Aintree Racecourse in England is going to be a fun race to wager on.
For those who like options and opportunity when it comes to betting, one of horse racing’s most unique events has exactly what you are looking for.
Set for this Saturday, Apr. 13th, 34 horses will tackle the 4-mile, 2-furlong and 74-yard distance and a total of 16 fences on the course, 14 of which are jumped twice, making this race the longest jump racing distance in the United Kingdom.
The defending champion, Corach Rambler, is the current favorite, but will face stiff competition from several competitors, including rival, Vanillier. Several longshot hopefuls are also ready to take aim at top prize, and a portion of the 1-million pound (approx. $1.254-million USD) purse.
More than just the world’s most historic steeplechase, the Grand National is a sporting spectacular that attracts a global audience each year and offers a wide array of betting opportunities.
