  • $500,000 Champagne Stakes (G1), Race 8, one mile on the dirt, for 2-year-olds.
  • $400,000 Frizette Stakes (G1), Race 5, one mile on the dirt, for 2-year-old fillies.

Why to watch:

Both races are Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” challenge events. Meaning a victory guarantees you a spot at the horse racing world championships in Novemember. Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (Frizette) and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (Champagne)

Who to watch in the Champagne:

Fierceness (#6), Timberlake (#3), General Partner (#4), El Grande O (#5)

What to do with a $20 bet in the Champagne:

  • $2 “triactor” bet for $12 ticket – Fierceness on top, El Grande O second, then bet on horses 1/2/3/4/7/8 for third.
  • $8 straight “exactor”: Fierceness to finish first, and El Grande O to place second.

Who to watch in the Frizette:

Just F Y I (#5), Emery (#6), Life Talk (#2), Central Avenue (#4)

What to do with a $20 bet in the Frizette:

  • $8 to win on Emery.
  • $2 “triactor” bet for $12 ticket: Emery on top, followed by picking horses 2/4/5 for second and then horses 2/4/5 for third.
