The Reason:
Marathon race (about 1 ¾ miles on the Downhill Turf) is a test of stamina and jockey smarts.
Mrs. Astor looks the most formidable on paper, so we need to throw her in the mix, but we’ll hope one of our other two hopefuls can net the top spot. Save the $2 left over from the bet for the final race on the card, a beautiful 12-horse field traversing six furlongs on the turf.
